THE STORY

STORY,THE

In September 2019 Swedish student activist Greta Thunberg stated “Our house
is on fire.” And indeed our house, Planet Earth, is on fire. Global warming, fresh water depletion, ocean overfishing, deforestation and air and water pollution are destroying our planet.

House On Fire takes you on your very own privately guided journey through Costa Rica!! Official Guide Ale Naturalista & Producer Ray Blanco show you the most majestic sites in the country.
You will observe the incredible plant, animal and insect species! You will experience the breathtaking views of beautiful exotic locations, epic adventures and delicious local cuisine! All this while being illuminated to lessons of efficient sustainability, reforesting over 170 acres and creating an operating nature reserve.

House On Fire is much much more than beautiful cinematography. It is a show that will urgently instill valuable knowledge about gardening, aquaponics, solar energy, permaculture, conservation, recycling and more. We have only a few years before the tragic effects of mankind can not be reversed.
Join us on this critical once in a lifetime journey!!

TheLocations

Reserva Naturalista Costa Blanco is located on the Central Pacific of Costa Rica. The property is designed to have an organic farm, water well, solar power, aquaponics, water treatment plant, biodigester and much more. All showcasing sustainable construction throughout. A small community taking care of a forest and proving endemic species can be brought back.

While we will be visiting the entire country we will always return to the reserve to implement lessons learned along the journey. Ecosystems were deforested and exploited and now we have the opportunity to reforest while teaching lessons of sustainability.

Episodes

  • Introduction to the amazing country of Costa Rica and the Reserva Naturalista Costa Blanco. Introducing Ale Naturalista and Ray Blanco. A montage of overwhelming beauty followed by a breakdown of the dire dangers the planet is facing. Planet Earth is on fire. An explanation of intentions then we are off to the rain forest on the first of many Costa Rican adventures. A breathtaking montage of all the season’s epic journeys will inspire and energize audiences!!

  • E2 Caryodendron angustifolium Conservation. Butterfly Garden. Endangered Species. Crocodile Montage. Yes yes, crocodiles! Everyone wants to see dinosaurs. We encounter crocs up close and personal. Unethical tourism is affecting the crocodile population and their ecosystem. Something equally important, a butterfly. Panacea procilla is an elusive butterfly species found in few places. If deforestation continues we will lose this butterfly forever. This is just one example of endangered species. We will find the tree that hosts this beautiful creature.

  • Water pollution. Water well. Deforestation. Beautifully composed waterfalls. EPIC waterfalls. Only the sound of crashing white noise, water bubbling from the spring, running water. Follow the water all the way down to the Sierpe Wetlands. 10 minutes of water’s amazing journey. We explore Terraba-Sierpe National Wetlands, an area affected by deforestation and exploitation. Extraction of gold is part of the history here and treasure is said to be hidden somewhere on the island. We learn about wells for clean drinking water and water pollution.

  • E4 INVASIVE SPECIES

Farm to table gardening. Foreign investment. Close ups of veggies being harvested from the garden and prepared in a kitchen like Chef’s Table. Tomatoes, oregano, mushrooms, corn, chili peppers & bananas. Fresh and bright. Drone shots of never ending tropical rainforest landscapes. Osa peninsula is the most biologically intense place on the entire planet. 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity of all species are here. One of the last remaining primary tropical rainforests on the Pacific coast of Central America. We find unstudied species and the one of a kind venomous marine snake. We explain how the ecosystem changes when non-
native plants are introduced. We take a hard look at why foreign investment is not always good and ways local communities can protect themselves from being exploited.
